An Indian citizen Nikhil Gupta has been charged with a foiled plot to assassinate a Sikh separatist leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun by prosecutors of the U.S.
The story began last year when a sikh separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar got assinated in Canada. He was a Candian resident and got assinated on own country soil. It shook the government of Canada, arrest were done. But the turn came when Prime Minister Justin Trudeau allege Indian agency for the assination.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau raises the issue in Candian Parliament, with U.S and other platforms. In this all India and Canada forgien releation got damage even the visa got rejected. And the two leaders Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Justion Trudeau got into cold releationship.

Nikhil Gupta who is an Indian citizen got arrested in Czeck Republic last year. The arrest were done on request of US goverment on the charges of being involved in plot of assination of US citizen Pannun. The interesting part is Gurpatwant Singh Pannun hold a dual citizenship of both country US and Canada.
According to media reports Gupta may be produced before a federal court in New York on Monday. Currently, he kept at the federal Metropolitan Detention Centre in Brooklyn. According to people familiar with the matter – Gupta arrived in New York over the weekend. And the extradited defendants must appear in court within a day of arrival in country.
The US federal prosecutors said Gupta hired a hitman to kill Pannun and paid 415,000 in advance. They also allege a senior Indian government intellegiance offical were involved and order the assination.
US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan coming to New Delhi.
Nikhil Gupta extradition issue comes ahead, when US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan coming for the annual ICET diaogue to New Delhi. It is expected that the issue of Gupta were raised by Indian counterpart NSA Ajit Doval.
India has already denied its involment in the assination case of spertitest leaders. Gupta attorney Rohini Musa, wrote in a petition to the Indian Supreme Court that her cliet is being unfairly prosecuted. She said there is “nothing on record to link the petitioner to the massive alleged plot to assassinate the alleged victim.”
