Vasundhara Raje – A prominent leader and politician, two-time chief minister of Rajasthan state. She entered politics in 1984.

Vasundhara Raje – Primarily she joined the newly formed BJP and made the national executive. She was elected as a member of the 8th Rajasthan Assembly from Dholpur. In the same year appointed vice president of the Yuva Morcha, Rajasthan BJP.

Raje comes from a royal family. Her mother Vijayaraje Scindia and her father Jivajirao Scindia was Maharaja of Gwalior, are members of the prominent Scidnia royal Maratha family.

Vasundhara Raje – Bio

Vasundhara Raje was born on March 8th, 1953, in Mumbai, India. She comes from the famous Scindia family. Her parents, Vijaya Raje Scindia and Jivajirao Scindia, were well-known figures.

She married Maharaj Rana Hemant Singh of the royal Dholpur family on November 17, 1972, but they parted ways a year later. Her son, Dushyant Singh, has followed in her footsteps and was elected to the Lok Sabha from her former constituency, Jhalawar.

Raje studied at the University of Mumbai and is dedicated to serving the people of Rajasthan. She resides in Dholpur, Rajasthan, with a focus on improving her state and the nation.

Starting her political career in 1985, Raje represented Dholpur in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly until 1990. She then became a Member of Parliament for Jhalawar from 1989 to 2003.

In 1998, she took up the role of Minister of State for External Affairs in the Indian government, under Jaswant Singh. Raje came back to Rajasthan’s Legislative Assembly in 2003 to represent Jhalrapatan, succeeding Mohan Lal.

Raje served as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan twice, from December 2003 to December 2008 and from December 2013 to December 2018, succeeding Ashok Gehlot in both terms.

Within her political party, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Raje has been very active. Since January 2019, she has worked as the Vice President of the BJP under the leadership of J. P. Nadda.
